1970's Ludwig Octoplus 11 Piece Drum Set
What can be said about the revival of Rock N Roll. When words fail, butcher block speaks. Ask any arborist in the world, dollars to donuts, fake wood over real wood any day of the week.
6" 8" 10" 12" 13" 14" 15" 16" All ready to hang at a moments notice.
14" x 24" Bass Drums & 16" x 18" Floor tom.
Overall this kit is in very good original condition. One owner set and well kept.
Wrap is very clean, holding nicely at the seams, and free of any significant wear. The shells are in round and take heads nicely. Typical Ludwig edges for this era, they aren't perfect, but they get the job done. Shell interiors are in clean condition and free of extra holes.
Hardware is all in good working condition. Chrome is clean with some minor cosmetic signs of use & age. Set includes all of the original necessary mounting hardware for the toms.
A couple of things to note
A cosmetic split in the wrap between the mount & badge on a bass drum. Not a shell issue. See photos.
Inner ply split around a lug on one bass drum. Cannot be seen from the exterior, has been glued and clamped and is not a structural issue. Drum is in round and tunes easily. See photos.
Stress split in the wrap/outter ply on the 8" tom. Common on these small concert toms. Can be seen in the last photo. Drum is in round and not cracked internally. I replaced the original washers with larger versions to prevent any further stress on the shell.
The drums have been looked over thoroughly and are in very good shape overall. The kit shows minor but standard signs of use, scratches/scuffs on the wrap and minimal scratches & surface pitting on the chrome.
