1986 Yamaha 8000 Tour Custom Drum Set Piano Black Lacquer 12/13/16/22
1986 Yamaha 8000 Tour Series Drum Set In Piano Black Lacquer
The quality of the 80s Recording Custom with a Birch & Mahogany shell
10 x 12
11x13
14x16
16x22
Drums are all structurally sound and free of any additional holes. The shells are clean and bearing edges look very good. Heads fit on easily and tune without issue.
Apologies to Steve Gadd but this 16" didn't want to hang anymore. A rims basket is currently on the drum, but the original mount can be installed in place of the basket if the potential buyer so desires.
The lacquer finish is in good condition overall with some standard signs of use. I took some of the photos of the toms in direct lighting to highlight the worst of the cosmetic issues. Dimples/surface dings in the finish along with scuffs/scratches, there are few areas that have been touched up with black lacquer. There are scuffs on top of the bass where it looks like sticks were held.
Small area on the bottom of the bass where there is some fine lacquer crazing or splits. This is not a structural issue as I removed the lug in that area to confirm that the shell is free of any damage. Can be seen in the closeup photos.
Batter side kick hoop has scuffs and finish loss on the bottom that can be seen in the photos. Front hoop is a newer Yamaha model that matches well and is in excellent condition.
The hardware all works well. Chrome shows some signs of use but overall is very clean. Surface scratches/scuffs on and minor speckled pitting.
Kit is complete and ready to go.
